Back with a Vengeance!
Hey everyone. You will recall me posting an entry over the weekend concerning a strange computer glitch. Well actually, I posted that entry from a computer at my parents' house, as I was there for the weekend. Well I am happy to report that the glitch has been resolved. Yesterday my dad and brother were over at my apartment and they reinstalled Windows. I cannot pinpoint exactly what happened that resulted in this strange problem, but I think it might've had to do with a program that either had not fully downloaded, or was a bad copy. But everything seems to work now, at least everything except for a couple things. One of these is Winamp, which is an audio player for the Windows operating system. The other has to do with some parts of programs which are still on my system but which don't work because I deleted their main components. But, life is once again looking good on the tech side. Other than that, today it was my turn to do laundry and I spent most of the day doing that. The weather was also great, so I hung out outdoors for a bit. Tonight is supposed to be rather brisk and chilly. The window in my bedroom is open though, because we have a heating problem in my building. I've been told constantly that nothing can be done about it since this is such an old building, but check this out: My upstairs neighbor doesn't have heat in his room and mine is probably the hottest in the building. I thought warm air was supposed to rise and cold air to fall. I mean, that's what I was taught in science class. But evidently that principle doesn't apply in my building. I am attending a meeting later this week to discuss some unrelated business, but I think I might just bring up the heating issue yet again and see what happens. It has honestly become such a problem in my bedroom that I have to keep my window open even when it's really cold outside. I do have a window air-conditioner, but I have been told that putting it up and plugging it in now would cause even more problems. I'm not that technical though, so I trust this advice is correct. Plus the friend who told me that was actually my life-skills tutor, and he is a chemist so I think he knows what he's talking about! I don't think my separate window fan will do much good either, as the heat seems to fluctuate like crazy even if the people upstairs turn the thermostat way down. So with that I think I'll close.
